In this episode, Aisha interviews Wilson Muscadin the owner and creator of The Money Speakeasy, a Financial Coach whose clientele is predominantly black women. The guest explains the difference between a financial coach and a financial advisor, highlighting that most financial services focus on stages 11 through 15 of one's financial journey, which are typically geared towards investable assets, wealth building, and estate planning. However, most Americans are dealing with stages one through ten, which include budgeting, saving, paying off debt, and starting a family. As a financial coach, Wilson's approach is to create a no-judgment environment for clients, especially for those who may be nervous or have shame or guilt around money. In this episode, I discusses my journey with donor egg IVF and how I eventually ended up choosing to undergo IVF procedure in the states. I want to emphasize that I am not a doctor so all medical decisions I made and that you'll make, was and should, be made in collaboration with your medical team. 

I researched extensively to find a clinic that would cater to my specific needs. I recommend listeners do the same type of extensive research.  I provide general tips for people seeking IVF abroad, including researching the quality of clinics, understanding the constraints of working with an international clinic, and being aware of laws and regulations surrounding reproductive health in the chosen country, and monitoring options.

Kim explains that with black sisterhood, in particular, there are certain things that black women just get, and she can be herself without feeling drained. In this episode, Aisha talks about choosing a sperm donor, whether through a known donor or a commercial sperm bank. Aisha herself used a commercial sperm bank and recommends it for those who are risk-averse. When choosing a sperm bank, important considerations include price, whether the sperm bank is LGBTQ+ or single-parent friendly, has a donor sibling registry, holiday and weekend policies, and the specific type of genetic testing required. Additionally, Aisha raises the topic of donor race, and suggests that potential parents should consider why they want a donor of a different race or ethnicity than their own. Aisha notes that black sperm donors are in short supply and encourages people to think carefully before using a donor from a different race or ethnicity. Ultimately, choosing a sperm donor is a deeply personal decision, and it is important to do one's due diligence in selecting the right donor.
