It is supposedly a large, 7 ft (~2.1 m) tall, hairy, black, manlike creature that eats dogs and cats, and emits a terrible odor. Some suggest it was a rogue black bear. Following sightings in 1972 beginning at 3:30 p.m. July 11, first reported by Terry, Wally, and Doris Harrison, and lasting for about 2 weeks, tracks were found and submitted to Lawrence Curtis, director of the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden. According to Joseph Sherwood, "In the Thai version of the story, the krasue was originally a normal human woman who lived a very sinful life. Because of her transgressions during her previous life, she is reborn as a ghost that must live off of rotten or uncooked food. The krasue is cursed to always feel hunger and to only be able to feed at night. To satisfy its ceaseless hunger, the krasue flies around in the night looking for blood and raw flesh to devour. It is known to attack cows and chickens while their owners are sleeping. The krasue will also eat carrion or even feces if there is no fresh blood and flesh to eat." The best part? When it feeds? It legit is a floating head with entrails dangling from it's neck. We also talk about the December 3rd alien attacks, jogging robots, and mass graves.

So, you want to talk to the dead. Well, you have tons of options to try. Some may hire a psychic, or perhaps a paranormal investigation team. Or maybe you want to take matters into your own hands. This week, Count Panek and Bob look at 3 different methods of spiritual communication.

Estes Method: A technique that allows investigators to sensory deprecate themselves into a channel in which they could communicate with the dead. They use a blind fold and listening blocking muffs, and filter white noise into it.

2. Pendulums: A crystal that dangles by thread. Can be used to make the spirits move it in a direction to answer a question.

3. Ouija Boards: A piece of wood with letters and phrases on there. Idea is that people use a planchette to move around the board guided by spirits.

These are just three quick tools or methods people use to communicate with the dead.

Peggy Hodgson, a single mother of four, reported that her two young daughters – Janet, aged 11, and older sister Margaret – had heard strange knocking. The source of the sound could not be determined. They called in the neighbours who were also disturbed by what they heard. Out of desperation, they rang the police, one of whom reportedly saw a chair move of its own accord. Next, they turned to the press. Over the next 18 months, stories of increasingly strange phenomena emerged from the house. Furniture was hurled across the rooms, there were reports of "paranormal whistling" and, most unsettling of all, Janet Hodgson was heard to talk with the rasping voice of an old man. The case came to the attention of the Society for Psychical Research (SPR), and two of its members, inventor turned paranormal investigator Maurice Grosse and writer Guy Lyon Playfair, were sent to investigate. Not to be confused with a fish taco, the pishtaco is a strange vampiric creature who lives off of, get this, human fat. These things drain the fat out of a person, and feeds on it. Then, even stranger, they sell this fat to the beauty care companies out of Europe. These are vampires who don't have the stereotypical look to a classic blood sucker. They look like everyday folk, but with something just...off about them. What is interesting is that this is the MAJOR big bad of that neck of the woods. Stop me if you heard this one before...guy picks up young lady walking down a dark road. She needs a ride. She gets in, is awfully quiet, and asks to be dropped off at a cemetery. She gets out, and vanishes. Looking in the backseat, the driver sees she left her scarf. Tracking down where he thought she lived? Turns out she has been dead for 10 years. This is a common trope in ghost stories known as the vanishing hitchhiker. Being in Chicagoland, the story around us is Resurrection Mary on the South Side. This story comes to us from Black Horse Lake in Montana. According to hwy.com, "Black Horse Lake is just a few miles north of Great Falls in Cascade County in north-central Montana. This is a major crossroads where several highways come together, including Interstate 15 and U.S. Highway 87." So this remote area is also seeming to be pretty popular during driving. Hwy.com goes on to say, "The various accounts almost always describe the hitchhiker of Black Horse Lake as a Native American man with long, black hair. He wears either a denim jacket or overalls and stands on the side of the state highway, signaling for a ride. However, just as the driver passes, the hitchhiker suddenly lurches in front of the car." Long story short, Kalil murdered Anna and was sentenced. All these years later, some say that Anna haunts a stretch of road in Walhalla, North Dakota now called White Lady Lane. Local stories of murders, mysterious floating blue orbs, lynchings and people being chased by ghosts and strange animals seem pretty easy to believe on a stretch of desolate road in the middle of a big, busy and well-maintained county park." 152 - The Cursed Lemp Family of St Louis/Lemp Mansion

According to Legends of America, "The Lemp Family began with Johann Adam Lemp, who arrived in St Louis from Eschwege, Germany, in 1838. Building a small grocery store at what is now Delmar and 6th Streets, he sold everyday household items, groceries, and homemade beer. The light golden lager was a welcome change from the darker beers that were sold at the time. The recipe, handed down by his father, was so popular that just two years later, he gave up the grocery store and built a small brewery in 1840 at a point close to where the Gateway Arch stands today. Lemp first sold his beer in a pub attached to the brewery, introducing St. Louis to its first lager. Before long, Lemp found that the brewery was too small to handle production and storage and found a limestone cave south of the city limits. The cave, located at the present-day corner of Cherokee and De Menil Place, could be kept cool by chopping ice from the nearby Mississippi River and depositing it inside, providing perfect conditions for the lagering process to run its course. Lemp’s Western Brewing Co. continued to prosper and, by the 1850s, was one of the largest in the city. In 1858, the beer captured first place at the annual St. Louis fair." Now how does someone who made beer to go to being cursed? " Scandals, secret child, and untimely deaths are all things to expect in this show.

Their skin appears at least mildly blue (putrid and badly frostbitten), and their hair is often long, brittle and frozen stiff. Their eyes are often pale blue, or gray, or perhaps white without irises. They have a long, sharp set of fingernails, to boot. Their favorite way to torture their victims? Pin them down with some ice and tickle them to death. Wild stuff, eh? We also talk about the giant 10 foot creature supposedly wandering around the Miami Mall.

148 - The Dover Demon

According to The Cryptid Wiki, "The Dover Demon is a small humanoid reported from Dover, Massachusetts. It was the subject of an intensive scare during the 1970s, when multiple witnesses came forward with their sightings. The Dover Demon is described as looking sort of like the "gray" variety of alien, except that it has rosy tan colored skin instead. The Dover Demon has a large head on a small, stick-like body. It can be bipedal, but it often travels on all fours or switches back and forth between the two modes of locomotion. It has eyes that glow, usually orange, or sometimes green. It does not seem to wear any clothing, and unlike the grays, the Dover Demon does not seem to be associated with any UFOs. It just wanders around on its own." It's the makings of a classic scary story, Children of the Night. Weird creature wandering around the woods, only teenagers seeing it, and it's eerie presence only while driving.

You know what we don't talk about nearly enough on Bob After Dark? We don't talk about the Japanese Yokai! Way back in episode 1, we talked about the Yuki Onna, the snowy ghost who shares similarities to the North American Wendigo. Yokai are, according to Yokai.com, "Over the years, many different English words have been used as translations. Yōkai can be translated as monster, demon, spirit, or goblin, but it encompasses all of that and more. The world of yōkai also includes ghosts, gods, transformed humans and animals, spirit possession, urban legends, and other strange phenomena. It is a broad and vague term, and nothing exists in the English language that quite describes it. Yōkai is one of those words–like samurai, geisha, ninja, and sushi–that is best left in its native tongue." It's a broader umbrella term than what we look at here state side. Bob has an entire Yokai panel he does at anime conventions, so why not look at one now? Introducing the Teke Teke. According to Yokai.com, "Teke teke is a ghost who appears in a number of urban legends. Teke teke are almost always women (though in a few versions of the urban legend, the ghost is male). She has no lower half; she runs about on her arms, creating the distinctive “teke teke” sound from which she gets her name." So, lets see if we can spook Count Panek a bit with this terrifying creature.

Here in America we happen to have one of the move famous of all waterfalls and that is in Niagara Falls right outside Buffalo New York. The falls are considered one of the most beautiful sights in the world, and happened to be one of the honey moon capital of the world. However, like most places in the world, there are some haunted locations around Niagara. One of the oldest theaters, Rapids Theatre, opened in 1921 the building is home to several ghost sightings. Then, opened in 1929, we have the Red Coach Inn. It's a honey moon gone wrong place that has a ghost of a murdered bride kicking around. Finally, we look at the Cave of the Evil Spirit. A place where a Native evil spirit lives and whispers curses to those who hear.

As in, no nose, no mouth. However, it has three solid green eyes, one in the middle of its forehead, and the other two on either side of its head, towards the back. Once upon a time ago, there was a TB outbreak, and Waverly Hills was the quintessential treating spot for the disease, or rather…a place that was able to try to treat it. TB was a vicious disease, and during it’s untreatable days a lot of folk died within those halls. Patients were subjected to experimental treatment that was sometimes worse than the disease itself. After closing it’s doors, the hospital became a retirement home…which wasn’t a pleasant place either. All of this leads one big energy foot print that may lead Waverly to be a haunted location.

However, in the south suburbs of Chicago, you can find that same story with a girl named Mary. Mary is known to haunt Archer Ave in Justice, Illinois. Specifically right around around the area of Resurrection Cemetery.

These can be as simple as a strange video tape, or more nefarious God-Like entitles that can cause the end of the world scenario. They are classified as: Safe, Euclid, and Keter. This week, Bob has two special guests on the show. Josh Shockley, a Master’s Degree student specializing in 19th Century literature. Also, Sarge Pepper, Panel Director of Ohayo-Con, and swiss army knife of nerdom. These two have a collective knowledge of SCP Lore, and both have experience streaming games, so these are two very qualified guests. Each guest highlight a specific SCP case file. Josh talks about SCP-701, a play that when performed causes the audience and performers to go mad. Sarge discusses SCP-093 a mirror that transports personnel to alternative dimensions. Bob talks about SCP-106 an old deformed man that spits out corrosive material, and hunts people down to transport to a pocket dimension, and kills. If you go on a Sunday, it is a near ghost town. The downtown district is one that is very postcard worthy. Lots of small businesses, and parks. Not some place you would expect to be a hotbed for the paranormal. Once upon a time ago, the city was known for being one of the birth places of the Spiritualism movement, and thus got a reputation for being a witch haven. There are several stories that go into the history of the town: An old water tower known for witches gathering, three cemeteries that form a perfect triangle, and a haunted college campus. It tells the story of the mysterious disappearance of Elisa Lam. Tourist in L.A who’s body ended up strangely in a water filtration tank atop the hotel. However the story may not have real paranormal ties, the story remains true…the Hotel Cecil has a strange past that Bob wanted to dig in. This task may have been too big for him. Enter Rebecca and Pat. Hosts of Ghostly Podcast. The two shows team up to take on the story, and see what they can come up with. Well, nestled in the states capital in Indianapolis is a historic home built in 1858 by Alexander Hannah. This beautiful home still stands today as a relic of the era. Wide open rooms, old furniture, and the original carpeting still sit the home today. Thinking past the architectural aspects of the house, the idea that this place fits every stereotype of a classic haunted house story. If that was your thought, then you would be absolutely correct. The original residents of the house are still said to be inhabiting the home, and others as well. Upon further inspection, you find out the basement of the home was used to hide slaves away as they escaped slavery of the south, and move them along on the final parts of freedom of the north.

062 - Backrooms

Imagine you are hanging out in a familiar spot. Mall, arcade, or even just a friends house. Maybe you are at some location for work, or even your own home. You are lazily leaning against a wall, when suddenly…You clip out of existence. Yo are transported to an area that looks like just a forgotten add on to a room. Old non-finished carpet, old dried wall paper, and just a feeling of being some place forgotten. Some place forbidden. You call out for help, but only a hear growl back. You hear that growl coming closer…You try to run but only find yourself running through an area that look very similar to the last. This is loop. You are in a plane of existence…the Back Room. The back room creepy pasta structure is common story telling trope online which someone falls through a wall, clipping themselves out of reality and end up in these backrooms. Once there, writers create a universe using this area. Some stories leave their characters a lone, some are pitted against some sort of monster type creature. Either way, this place is not one you would like to come into. Bob reads two stories about the backrooms from aspiring paranormal writers, and shares his thoughts on how this sort relates to the SCP Foundation’s Never Ending Ikea. Bob also has three news stories this week. The first one is about a young poet in Scotland, Len Pennie, whom is raising a campaign to help remember folks who were executed during the Scotland Witch Trials. The second story gives us an idea of what and how the dinosaurs came to being extinct. Finally, Bob and the Count look at a mysterious hole that opened up on Mars.
