In Exodus 4, Moses stands before God with excuse after excuse: "What if they don't believe me?" "I'm not a good speaker." "Send someone else." But God never tries to convince Moses that he's qualified. Instead, He points Moses to something far greater: His presence.

This Father's Day message explores why our greatest problem isn't a lack of ability, but a lack of surrender, and how Jesus—the true and better Deliverer—provides everything we need to trust God and obey Him.
In Exodus 3, Moses isn't searching for God. He's tending sheep on an ordinary day when God interrupts his life through a burning bush. What follows is one of the most powerful encounters in all of Scripture. God reveals Himself as the great "I AM"—the self-sufficient Creator who depends on nothing, yet chooses to come near to people who need everything. In this message, we'll discover why Christianity doesn't begin with self-improvement but with an encounter, how God has revealed Himself most clearly in Jesus, and why an encounter with God changes everything. If you've ever felt restless, distant from God, or wondered whether God is trying to get your attention, this message is for you.

We learned what happens when our plans fall apart and how God continues working even when we cannot see it. Through Moses’ failure, wilderness season, and Israel’s groaning, we see that God’s plans do not fail even when ours do. This passage teaches us about trusting God, waiting on His timing, spiritual growth through difficult seasons, and God's faithfulness in suffering. Most importantly, Moses points us to Jesus, the greater Deliverer who came to rescue us from slavery to sin and bring us into a relationship with God.

Whether you're struggling with disappointment, waiting on God, questioning His plan, or wondering if He is still at work in your life, this message from Exodus offers hope and encouragement.

In the final week of The Wise Family series, we looked at Proverbs 16:9: “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Parenting carries a deep tension. We are called to take responsibility, make wise plans, shape direction, teach truth, and intentionally point our children toward Jesus. But we are also reminded that we are stewards, not saviors.

Wise parents make the plan, but they trust God with the outcome. We can pray, disciple, guide, correct, and model repentance, but only God can change a heart. This sermon is not just for parents. It is for anyone learning to trust God with the future, the people they love, and the outcomes they cannot control.

The good news is that Jesus meets us in our fear, regret, shame, and grief. He died for imperfect parents, prodigal children, and every one of us who has tried to build a life apart from God. And because He rose from the dead, our failures are not final. We can walk in faithfulness, release control, and trust the Lord with the steps. Thanks for listening!

Words can either build people up or tear them down. And the way we speak matters just as much as what we say. Our speech ultimately reveals what’s happening in our hearts. Through the gospel, we believe Jesus is God’s perfect Word made flesh who came not only to forgive our sinful words but also to give us a new heart and transform the way we speak to others. Tone is what a family feels like on the inside. And while pressure often leads to control or guilt, wisdom leads to a tone shaped by trust in God. Through the gospel, we are reminded that we don’t have to carry the weight of being perfect because Jesus has done that for us and given us His Spirit to help us live with dependence, grace, and peace. We saw why God disciplines those He loves: to lead us away from folly and toward wisdom. As parents, we are called to reflect that same kind of intentional, loving formation in our children. Ultimately, the gospel shows us that Jesus took our punishment so we could receive God’s life-giving discipline as His children. We hope this message encourages and challenges you. In this message, we explored God’s design for fatherhood and saw that dads are called to challenge their children toward maturity, lead with integrity, and model the wisdom they hope to see in their families. But we also saw that no earthly father perfectly lives up to that standard. Which is why our ultimate hope is not in better parenting, but in Jesus, the true Wisdom of God. He brings us to our perfect Heavenly Father. We hope this message encourages and challenges you. Thanks for listening!

This message challenges us to be intentional in how we form the next generation, while trusting God to do what we cannot. We hope this message encourages and challenges you. He and his team are going to plant Declaration Church in Buies Creek, NC, near Campbell University. He talks about what true life really looks like, and it's only in knowing Jesus that we can have it. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, which is a picture of what Jesus does for us spiritually when we put our faith in him. We hope this message challenges and encourages you. Thanks for listening!

As the wall was completed, God began a deeper work: bringing clarity through Scripture, conviction of sin, and celebration of His grace. Revival doesn’t come from external change, but from hearts renewed by God’s Word. Ultimately, we see that lasting transformation requires more than revival moments. We need new hearts, which Jesus alone provides through His life, death, and resurrection. We hope this message encourages and challenges you. Thanks for listening!

As the wall of Jerusalem neared completion, opposition intensified, revealing an important truth: when God’s mission advances, spiritual opposition is imminent. The enemy often uses ridicule, fear, discouragement, and distraction to pull God’s people away from the work He has called them to do. We have to learn to: build with one hand and battle with the other. The enemy cannot stop God’s mission, but he will try to stop God’s people. Ultimately, Jesus faced every form of opposition, yet never abandoned the mission, securing victory for us through His life, death, and resurrection. We hope this message encourages and challenges you. Thanks for listening!

When God moves in the world, especially to restore his people, he doesn’t begin with blueprints, he begins with burden. Nehemiah hears that Jerusalem is in “great trouble and shame,” and instead of rushing into strategy he weeps and prays. He shows us that a holy burden should lead to reverence, repentance, and requests before action. In what ways has God burdened you? Begin with prayer before you ever move to action. We hope this message encourages and challenges you. Thanks for listening!

Today, we began a new teaching series in Nehemiah 1.

Endurance grows in community, so let's lean in together and endure to the end. We hope this message encourages and challenges you. Thanks for listening.

The author warns that spiritual dullness doesn’t come from ignorance, but from hearing truth without responding to it. He reminds us that Jesus, our perfect High Priest, obeyed fully in our place so we could be forgiven and changed. Because of the gospel, obedience isn’t a way to earn God’s love, but a response to it, as the Holy Spirit carries us forward into maturity one step at a time. We hope this message encourages and challenges you. Thanks for listening!

Today, we studied Hebrews 3:7–19 to learn why listening to God is never passive and why disobedience is ultimately a problem of unbelief. We saw how Israel’s failure in the wilderness warns us about hardened hearts, how unbelief slowly forms through delay and justification, and why exhortation and community are God’s gifts to keep us trusting Him. Most importantly, we were reminded that Jesus obeyed where Israel failed, and that His obedience covers our disobedience, giving us hope and grace today. We studied Hebrews 2:5–10 to learn why angels, though real and powerful, are servants in God’s plan. Jesus is better and has secured an eternal inheritance for His people. This message explores what the Bible actually teaches about angels, the future God has planned for humanity, and how Jesus’ death and resurrection give us hope as we live between the “already” and the “not yet.” We hope it encourages and challenges you.
