The lecture “Holy Bodies, Transformed Minds” — based on Romans 12 — explores what it means for Christians to live wholly for God, both in body and in thought. It draws especially from Romans 12:2, where Paul urges believers not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by the renewal of their minds, so they may discern and live out God’s perfect will.

This teaching recognizes that the command sounds simple but can feel overwhelming in practice. Many Christians, upon reading Paul’s words, instinctively turn it into a self-improvement checklist: “Stop conforming. Renew my mind. Learn discernment.” The lecture, however, reframes that mindset entirely.

Dr. Jones emphasizes that our transformation is not a self-generated effort—it is a response to God’s mercy and a work made possible through Christ’s holiness, not our own striving. In other words, we don’t achieve holiness by trying harder; we live it out as we are renewed by the Spirit.

Dear truthXchange Podcast, Dr. Ventrella and Joshua Gielow. Thank you for your show and weekly articles. The recent article on Calvin University footnote 11 (Yes, I read the footnotes, though I think some of your footnotes are worthy to be issues tackled at greater lengths) Do you think that Dr. Smith’s salvation is compromised because he has widened his doors to the LGBTQ?

Notice the sleight of hand here: “salvation issue” is equated with “disagreement is disallowed.” Smith is confusing categories. Smith, I suspect, doesn’t really contend that Synod is saying one is damned with certitude for being Baptistic or even affirming same-sex “marriage;” rather, he’s irritated that he can’t kick against this Scriptural sexual norm. The point is that affirming same-sex “marriage” departs from a credible Christian profession of faith and thereby puts one into spiritual jeopardy. It is a position rooted in deception that, as Paul says, will not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9. So, in that sense at the very least, it certainly comprises a “salvation issue.”

"The survey’s demographic breakdown reflects that the church has failed to impact the theological formation of the next generation, whether pew-sitters or the broader population. The theological ignorance is stunning. " later you quote another author, “It could be argued that the primary theologians influencing the spiritual views of America these days are figures such as Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, Russell Brand, Jordan Peterson, Megyn Kelly, and Bill Maher.” Clearly, the church is failing in it's catechesis, but certainly ministers are up against a competition of those who take 6 days of content, and then come in on Sunday with no appetite for the means that is supposed to supply them for the week. How can churches compete?

My son Jeremy is studying British history, and is currently reading about the Covenanters and King Charles I. He asked if I could pop over this question: "Dear Jeff, I am learning a bit about our world governments at school. Recently we learned about the Scots who resisted King Charles the first. They were called the covenanters. One of the things they did was draw up a treaty for the nation to covenant with God. It reminded me of one of your episodes where you talked about how the government is God's servant. I wondered if this was even truly necessary? Why should a nation have to make a covenant with God in the first place if all rulers are God's servants? Ps. Thanks for the show. I listen to them while I do my after school chores on Fridays."

I am not convinced we have ever had a truly righteous candidate, (which one would think would make voting a whole lot easier!)-- This year we have candidates, in my opinion, again, who are both wicked in their own right, which makes it easier in my mind to not vote, but my friends say that that inaction is action for evil. Please consider sharing your thoughts on how Christians should vote( scripture references would be preferable), and why it seems like everyone has their own worldview on voting. Thanks, in advance.

Hey friends, I have been reading a book on CRT adjacent called Reparations by Duke Kwon and Gregory Thompson. One of the factors I am considering helpful in CRT is that society needs to take ownership for their past mistakes, specifically with white Americans who live off of the momentum gained by slavery in the US. Wouldn't it be more Christian of us to own our mistakes and sins and take of communities that have been made disadvantaged by slave ownership?

I have been following TruthXchange for several years, and I have recalled a number of speakers in the past talks about dualism as always a bad thing. Are there any types of dualism where this is not the case?

Jordan Peterson has indicated that psychedelics may have been what Moses experienced in the desert with the burning bush, or what was kept in the Ark of the Covenant. You, along with others like Albert Mohler, seem to draw a conclusion that it is never good. I can think of a few scenarios where it can be of aid like a glass of wine, or for those who suffer from cancer. Is there a way to steward them well for God's glory?

While reading the article, it struck me that the arguments you cited that are used to justify IVF mortality are essentially the same ones used to justify elective abortion. When pro-life Christians (or non-Christians) argue against the justifications for abortion but then accept the identical justifications for IVF, they completely neutralize their argument and testimony.

Dr. Ventrella, You wrote "How then should Christians conceptualize the State in a way which dispels the lies we live? Has the Lord instructed us in such things? Indeed, because Christ is Lord, His divine power has in fact “granted us all things that pertain to life and godliness.”[19] This includes life and godliness in the public square including a theology of the State." Much of the New Testament seems to have an understanding that the Kingdom of God is not of this world and that we are pilgrims passing through, but here in the dicta you seem to imply that we should be involved, even to take the nation for God. How does this not lead to a type of Christian Nationalism? Is Christian Nationalism bad?

In the 1730s America experienced the Great Awakening, a revival in which thousands were convicted of sin, changed their lives, and influenced their society. A Great Awokening is now transforming social institutions and shaping future generations by convicting millions of their racism, homophobia, transphobia, and misogyny. This Woke ideology has entered schools, the workplace, our language, the media, and government. Where has it come from? How do we recognize it? What should be the church’s response? Though genuine social problems exist, woke solutions only increase social division and mental health issues among our young. Will the Church resist the pressure and remain faithful to Scripture? If so, then the Great Awokening could be a precursor for another Great Awakening.
