Although past efforts to improve may have been thwarted, no one would purposely want to live a life like that. Thankfully getting out of this hurtful lifestyle is right within your reach through the Word of God. Today we celebrate Pentecost, the day of the amazing outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Shavuot as it is called in Hebrew is rich in meaning as a festival instituted by God in the Old Testament. This Feast of the Harvest reminds us of the the words of Jesus to His disciples that the fields are “white unto harvest” but the laborers are few. The greatest harvest of souls in history lies ahead. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NLT

Because God has given me a new way to live, I can do the good things God planned for me long ago, and be an example of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness.
