Deborah M. Pratt (@DM_Pratt on Twitter and @DeborahMPratt on Instagram) is an American director, writer, television executive producer and actress.

She was executive producer of “The Net” for USA network, co-executive producer and head writer on iconic NBC series the “Quantum Leap” and “Tequila and Bonette” for CBS. She wrote for multiple television series including Quantum Leap, Magnum, P.I., The Pretender and Airwolf. She made her directorial debut with Cora Unashamed for the BBC, PBS and Masterpiece Theatre’s The American Collection.

Ms. Pratt is a five-time Emmy nominee, a Golden Globe nominee, and recipient of The Lillian Gish Award from Women in Film, The Angel Award, The Golden Block Award, and Six B.E.N. Award, from the award-winning series Quantum Leap to the internationally acclaimed Masterpiece Theatre’s Cora Unashamed.

Shakina is a celebrated actress and activist.

She initially made television history on NBC’s “Connecting” as the first transgender person to play a series regular on a network comedy.

She can also be seen in Amazon’s GLAAD Award Winning “Transparent Musicale Finale,” which she helped write and produce, and Hulu’s “Difficult People” as the iconic trans truther, Lola. Her play “Chonburi International Hotel and Butterfly Club” premiered on Audible in 2020 in collaboration with Williamstown Theatre Festival and was recognized with a 2021 Drama League Award for Best Audio Theatre Production.

She is the Founding Artistic Director of Musical Theatre Factory, where she helped to develop hundreds of new musicals including Michael R. Jackson’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning “A Strange Loop,” along with her own autobiographical glam rock odyssey, “Manifest Pussy.”

This week, we're talking about the news that the new pilot has officially been picked up to a series. We knew it would happen, but man, are we even more excited now!

We're also here with our capsule review of season one's "Camikazi Kid" - an episode that deals with the difficult topic of domestic violence, but still somehow manages to throw in just the right amount of comedy.

We give it our short review treatment and get a chance to revisit the episode after some spooky things creeped into our original review, which dropped on Halloween 2017.

Welcome to Quantum Leap: Revisited with Fate’s Wide Wheel - our capsule-sized reviews of the classic series. Our mission is to rank the show on a scale of 1-10 based on five different categories - writing, directing, acting, production values, and mythology. Each category is weighted based on importance - writing, directing, and acting are each worth 25% of the average, production values are 15%, and mythology just 10%. Our original reviews sought to stimulate discussion, contextualize the episode based on when it was set, when it aired, and when our discussion took place. Of course, we also provided background information and our personal opinions of each episode. That, and a whole lot more. We’re proud of those reviews and they will continue to be available for listeners in our archive. Meanwhile, we wanted the opportunity to revisit the episodes with only our opinion of the categories above - giving listeners a compact rating of each episode of the classic series in the lead-up to the premiere of the new series in the Fall of 2022. Have our opinions changed? For the better? For worse? Will this new rubric yield results that surprise even us? We've heard that word a lot on Quantum Leap forums the last few weeks as the casting call for the series was released, and that release was confirmed to be genuine. Some fans of the classic series are already coming what's to come "too woke".
