In a time when the heart of the Lord is misrepresented, and the name of Christ misused, Alena Van Dyke is a clarifying voice for modern Christian living. She speaks the truth without hype or hypocrisy. She is unafraid to address real issues in religion and church. With a gentle and loving approach, she deconstructs religious legalism, lies, and false teachings to uncover the wolves in sheep’s clothing.

In the Restoring Christianity Podcast, Alena extends an invitation for believers in Jesus Christ to wholeheartedly love and obey the Lord with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength and reconstruct a healthy, deep, and meaningful relationship with Jesus. Staying true to the initial purpose of the formerly known Miniphanies® podcast, Alena still shares ancient truths in relatable ways, inspired by everyday experiences. She is a woman full of mini-epiphanies, able to see all the ways that everything is spiritual and everything we do and say has eternal significance.

Alena’s voice will inspire you to live with intention, choose wholehearted love for the Lord over religious legalism, and restore hope that Christianity is still relevant, life-changing, and morally imperative.

These throwback episodes were recorded during 2017–2019. These conversations capture a snapshot of my spiritual journey at that time—full of questions, passion, and honest searching. My time in seminary taught me to be unoffensive and sound more “universal.” Therefore, I wish to share a disclaimer.

In 2019, I was criticized for the information in these episodes and I removed them from the internet. But after much prayer, reflection, and soul-searching, I believe it is important to honor the process of spiritual growth and to encourage others who are also on a journey of transformation. When people meet with me for spiritual direction, I do not expect them to be on the same place in the journey. The actual point of mentorship and spiritual direction is meeting with someone who is farther along in the faith who WILL NOT JUDGE you for where you are— but with compassion and humility and love, will walk with you on the path for a while to bring you closer to the Lord. Spiritual direction shares wisdom, discernment, and guidance… and provides gems to the mentee. My prayer is that these mini-epiphanies will provide little gems of truth to you.

In a world where religious leaders are trying to erase and hide their pasts, I lay mine bare before you. I am not perfect. I am genuine; I was then and am now. I am loved by a perfect God whose loving kindness draws me in and makes me pursue him and help others pursue him with all we have, all we are- all our heart, mind, and soul. My convictions today are different then they were over 9 years ago. I hope you say the same- it’s a sign you’ve grown.

Thank you for listening with grace, curiosity, and an open heart as we all continue to grow—together. I pray the Lord will speak to you through this podcast, (old or new) and that both He and I will meet you exactly where you are and provide exactly what you need for the season you’re in.

Welcome to this episode from the original archives of the Miniphanies Podcast- long before it was renamed The Restoring Christianity Podcast. These throwback episodes were recorded during 2017–2019. These conversations capture a snapshot of my spiritual journey at that time—full of questions, passion, and honest searching. My time in seminary taught me to be unoffensive and sound more “universal.” Therefore, I wish to share a disclaimer.

Please note: This episode reflects my beliefs, perspectives, and language from several years ago. Since then, my faith and understanding have grown and evolved in significant ways. Some views or expressions you will hear do not represent where I stand today. The contact info and websites listed are out of date.

If you’re curious about my current beliefs, teachings, or ministry, I invite you to explore my more recent work at alenavandyke.com, prayinthedesert.com, and search for my book “Return to Love: Restoring the Heart of Christianity” on Audible or Amazon.
